Textile Print: Armando Chant. Photography: Gary Gee.

Cloud-scape is a large-scale textile created using my method of Reconstructed Textiles. Using this method, multiple copies of the same digitally printed image are sliced and reconstructed to create a new textile, transforming the original imagery.

Cloud-scape is a deceptively delicate textile structure that expresses and makes solid the ethereal, fragile presence of a cloud. Structure and image combine to create a hybrid, shifting surface, generating a sensory experience. The work appears as a floating landscape, and its engagement with light and space provides a focus for contemplation, dreaming and wonder. The structure frames images of a land in the process of elemental change.

Cloud-scape was exhibited as part of Group Exchange, 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial, curated by Cecilia Heffer. The textile is in the permanent collection of the Tamworth Regional Gallery.
